EVA LONGORIA

Just back in London and with lots of things to come :)

Already settled in my new gorgeous apartment with my English and lots of proyects in mind when I received that great new: "Eva Longoria wearing one of my dresses for Zara!!!".

Alvaro called me last friday in the morning telling me he was watching that programe on TV and he thought Eva Longoria was wearing his favourite dress I have designed for Zara.

Late in the afternoon, Marcos sent me the pictures and YES, it was my dress!!! So exciting!!!! What a good way of start the new "start" ;)

Casi recién aterrizado en Londres, instalado en mi nuevo apartamento con mi Inglés y con muchos proyectos por delante ;)

El pasado viernes, Alvaro me llamó por la mañana diciendome que creía haber visto a Eva Longoria en un programa de televisión vistiendo uno de mis diseños para Zara. Aún no tengo internet en casa, así que Marcos se encanrgó de la búsqueda y por la tarde me mandó las imágenes y... SI!!! es mi vestido!!!!

Qué manera más emocionante de comenzar el nuevo "comienzo" ;)

ESTURRI DECORACIÓN

This is just my last week in La Coruña and my English and I are crazy busy; but in the middle of the battle, I found a little gap to recommend you one of my favourites spaces in this city, Esturri Decoration. They just moved to a new local in Calle Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre 4 and the way they are decorating it and mixing amazing scandinavian furnitures with home accessories is just gorgeous, you feel like you are in your own living room. All over the shop you can see beautiful design pieces like the Barcelona Chair by Mies van der Rohe, luminous Marimekko prints or delicated wine glasses from iittala. Full of colour also, it´s very inspiring and I have to say I bought here Davinia´s wedding present ;)

So if you want to make a present or just get a beautiful piece for yourself, you have to come to this wonderful shop where Sandra will serve you amazingly and will tell you the story behind every piece on the store ;)

A sólo un fin de semana de dejar La Coruña mil cosas son las que nos están manteniendo ocupados a mi Inglés y a mi; pero entre tantas, siempre hay un hueco para recomendar un buen sitio, y Esturri Decoración es uno de mis lugares favoritos en Coruña. Acaban de mudarse a un nuevo local en la Calle Santiago Rey Fernández-Latorre nº4, y están fusionando de manera magistral la venta de muebles del diseño escandinavo más auténtico con complementos y útiles de cocina más chic. La tienda está plagada de diseño y allí os podéis encontrar desde una silla Barcelona de Mies van der Rohe a un tejido clásico de Marimekko o maravillosas copas de vino de iittala. Lleno de colorido, inspira nada más entrar en el espacio, y la manera de exponer los productos te hace sentir como en el salón de tu casa ;)

No en vano, aquí compré el regalo de boda de mi Davinia :)

Asi que si quereis comprar buen diseño y calidad no dudeis en acercaros a Esturri Decoración, no os decepcionará y además, Sandra os atenderá de maravilla, os asesorará y os contará la historia que se esconde detrás de cada pieza que habita en Esturri :)

XOXO GOSSIP GIRL ;)

I usually don´t write here about work but today is special ;). And this is because one of the dresses I designed for the company I was working for until last week, was in the one of the chapters on the show Gossip Girl and Serena Van der Woodsen was wearing it!!! I am so flattered ;)

When my friend and ex-workmate sent me the link yesterday I felt soooo happy!!! Here the link where they found it.  click here I can only say I feel very happy :)

Normalmente no hablo de mi trabajo en el blog pero hoy lo hago por un hecho muy especial; y es que uno de los vestidos que he diseñado para la compañía en la que he trabajado hasta hace una semana, aparece en uno de los capítulos de Gossip Girl y es la protagonista, Serena Van der Woodsen, la que lo lleva puesto!!! Cuando me envió el link una ex-compañera de curro,me dió una alegría increíble. aquí el link. Qué subidón. Sólo decir que estoy muy contento y orgulloso :)

LA GLOiRA

It´s funny now I´m leaving Coruña for good I´m recomending you one of its locals. But I really like this place just down my house in the Old City ;) 

La Gloira is actually a tea-coffee place but in the late afternoon or evenings you can enjoy a nice beer or whatever you fancy. I love the quirky and trashy decoration; it makes you feel comfortable and relax keeping you far from the posh and pretentious atmosphere that prevades the city. The place has different levels with different little rooms that make it very cosy and private, all of them with different textures and decoration but keeping the same soul.

Definetly you have to go if you are visiting Coruña or if you live here, you will feel you are in whatever part of the world you want to be ;)

Resulta curioso que ahora que me marcho de la ciudad, os vaya a recomendar un sitio en Coruña; pero al ser uno de mis favoritos tengo que hacerlo. La Gloira es un local de té y café se encuentra en pleno corazón de la Ciudad Vieja justo al bajar mi casa ;) y te invita no sólo a disfrutar deliciosos tés sino también cualquier bebida o cerveza que te apetezca (abre además hasta tarde).

Me encanta como está decorado, nada tiene sentido y todo lo tiene a la vez. Las paredes y rincones de este local están plagados de los objetos más diversos y pintorescos, nada medido o premeditado, imprimiendo al sitio de una tranquilidad y carácter alejados del ambiente pijo y pretencioso que normalmente envuelve a esta ciudad.

Hay varios niveles o entreplantas y cada uno de ellos es como una pequeña habitación que invita al cobijo y te hace sentir muy en casa y comfortable.

Un lugar al que definitivamente tenéis que venir si visitáis Coruña o si vivís aqui; sentiréis que estáis en cualquier parte del mundo en la que queráis estar.

DRIES VAN NOTEN

No sence, that´s what at first time we could say about this marvellous collection. Apparently, random way of setting the prints (three or more different ones mixed in the same garment) but it is gotten masterfully. This collection is special, beautiful and wearable. Easy garments that let you go to work and allow you socializing after and still look great. Te fantastic Oriental touch is visible not only in prints and embroideries but in some shapes which diverge in exotic tunic-dresses from the original kimono in a wonderful and actual way. Belts are responsible of marking the body and give the sexy touch.

Very sober and austere lines but absolutely rich at the same time. How do they get it? Probably we are just watching a gift.

Una colección en la que las prendas pueden resultar sinsentidos. Los estampados se mezclan de manera aleatoria sobre los tejidos que ensamblados proyectan maravillosas piezas. Esta nueva colección de Van Noten es especial, bonita y fácil de llevar. Es perfecta y permite a la mujer ir bella a trabajar y socializar después de la jornada absolutamente cómoda, elegante y actual. El aire Oriental no sólo lo aportan los explicitos estampados y bordados de oro sino también las maravillosas siluetas de los vestidos túnica que parecen una adaptación urbana del clásico kimono. Los cinturones son los encargados de marcar el cuerpo y aportar lo sexy. Líneas muy sobrias y austeras pero absolutamente ricas a la misma vez. Cómo lo consigue el diseñador? Quizás estemos hablando de un don.
